Let's get you recording.
Duo Prompt support and recording tips.
Your first take
- Open Script, paste your words, and save. Put each thought on a new line.
- Open Speed to set your reading pace, text size, and countdown.
- Allow camera and microphone access, then tap the red record button.
- Pause the words when you need to; the video continues. Tap the red stop button to finish.
- Open Takes, review your video, and use Share video to export it.
Recording access
Your first successfully saved recording is free. Failed recordings and cancelled countdowns do not use it. Unlimited recording is a one-time US$1.99 purchase in the US storefront; Apple shows the applicable local price before confirmation. There is no subscription. In Reading settings, open recording access and use Restore purchases with the Apple Account used to buy the unlock. Rehearsal, playback, and sharing remain available.
Camera unavailable
Check Settings for camera and microphone permission. Close other apps using the camera, return to Duo Prompt, and choose Connect camera. Free some device storage if it is nearly full. Simulator has no camera and cannot test real recordings.
iPhone Duo outer display
Use compatible iPhone Duo hardware with iOS 27.1 or later. The phone must be open, the app in front, and the camera active. The system may withdraw the outer display. Use the main-screen script when it is unavailable. Simulator layout checks cannot prove the camera-driven outer-display lifecycle.
Keep your videos safe
Review important takes and share copies before deleting them or removing the app. The app stores videos locally; it is not a cloud backup service. Deleting a take does not restore the free-recording allowance.
